Astenbeck Capital Management was launched in February last year by Andrew Hall, the former energy trader and current Phibro CEO. The commodities-focused hedge fund manager is named after a village near Hall's historic castle in Germany and was opened to manage hedge funds for Phibro's outside investors.

Penjing Asset Management is a fund of hedge funds (FoHF) house that obviously took the term ‘hedge fund’ to heart when it launched in 2005. Following the gardening theme, it is named after the ancient Chinese practice of growing small garden scenes in miniature containers.

Though some descendents of the tribe remain to this day, it faced its downfall during the Pequot War, eventually being all but wiped out during the Mystic massacre of 1637.
