Park City plans special opportunity launch

Park City Capital, a Dallas-based hedge fund manager, will launch a special opportunity fund early next year, with early commitments from the firm’s existing investors.

The new fund, the Park City Capital Special Opportunity Fund, is designed to capitalise on a specific opportunity. It will have a small capacity and only market to a select group of other potential allocators, predominantly family offices, along with institutions and select individuals.

Michael Fox will be the fund’s portfolio manager. Prior to founding the firm, he spent eight years at JP Morgan in New York.

The fund has a $500,000 investment minimum. Merlin Securities is the prime broker. Earlier this year, HFMWeek reported that Park City Capital had received a strategic allocation from a family office in Texas.
