Ucits index gains 1.1% in January so far

The Ucits Alternative Blue Chip Index has gained 1.1% so far this month after posting positive returns for the fourth week in a row.

Seven out of the 11 strategies in the index are up so far in January, indicating a strong start to the year for the European fund class.

CTA is the best performer for the week, up 0.86%, while emerging Markets and event-driven are both up by more than four-fifths of a percent.

Commodity funds, which lost 0.64%, were the worst performers.
