Former Deutsche Bank pros set up hedge fund

Jason Evans and Kamal Kasera, formerly of Deutsche Bank, have set up a hedge fund, HFMWeek has learned. The duo’s New York-based manager is called NineAlpha Capital Management and specialises in fixed-income arbitrage and high-frequency trading.

Before co-founding NineAlpha, Evans was a managing director at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank. He was head of both the Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank Primary dealerships and in charge of their global US Treasury trading businesses. Most recently, he relocated to Japan to run the DB Core Rates platform spanning JGBs, IRS, volatility and non-yen bond trading.

Before Kasera co-founded NineAlpha he was a director and senior trader at Deutsche Bank. At Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for all electronic trading in US government bonds. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, he was a fixed income strategist at Goldman Sachs.
