Real estate vet debuts Iridium Capital fund

Marilyn Kane, who has a background in commercial real estate, has set up her maiden hedge fund.

Kane formed New York-based Iridium Capital and has launched the IC Income and Growth Fund, which will purchase single-tenant net lease properties with a focus on retail, medical and industrial buildings in the Midwest and South of the US.

“People who are not versed in commercial real estate stay away from it because they are afraid of volatility,” she said. “We wanted to give an investor peace of mind to mitigate the inherent volatility in real estate and come up with a very precise strategy that would be low risk, low entry level and provide a good steady return.”

Kane also brought on Sean Shanahan for the launch. They previously worked together at Sperry Van Ness Butler Kane.
