International pensions not put off hedge funds

Hedge funds can take heart from the fact that they are still very much part of the investment plans of international pension funds, despite the current climate of faltering performance.

Respondents to a survey by investment advisor bfinance have indicated that the sector still forms part of their long-term strategy, and although the survey showed no clear short-term trend towards hedge funds, exposure to the asset class is expected to grow significantly over the next three years.

Of the respondents, 63% indicated that they are currently reviewing their investment strategy and 65% of these indicated that they intended to do so before the end of the year
