Hedge fund investor base set to become increasingly institutional
Nearly half of all managers surveyed have seen a proportional increase in capital from institutional increase over the past two years, according to research firm Preqin.
The February edition of the Spotlight newsletter reveals that approximately 61% of hedge fund capital now comes from institutional sources.

Its no wonder. The smaller investors keep getting pushed out. Funds that gate their investors have been accused of giving preferential treatment in terms of redemptions to large pension funds over the smaller investors.
